FWSQA Catch Up

WoW! has this time ever gone by quickly, we have had seven birthdays, including mine, a holiday, vaca time with my girls and grandgirls, 3 weddings and 1~ 50 year anniversary since mid June! Yikes, but I can up date some farm wife news!

I chose to make the blocks according to the story order, so it feels like I'm wandering along on my own, but I usually do take the road less traveled!

I really feel a bit challenged by these little gems, but I will go on, as being a farm wife isn't always easy!! but it will be a rewarding ~xo~

here is the first one, what a challenge! Yikes!
the second one was much easier!
This one was hard for my to square up, oops!

Ready to Begin!

Well, I got my Farmer's Wife Sampler Book and love the letters and patterns!! I've been following some  FWQA bloggers and it seems this is quite a challenge with templates and all!!   Yikes!!  I wonder if hand piecing would be easier on some of those odd shaped pieces....we'll see!

I was going to use Aunt Grace fabrics or some that kept to the  1920s~30's but I just can't get away from the coral reds and
 turquoise blues!
Of course, I had to throw in a few wild cards...green!
Most of these are Moda, but I have some that have been around and need to find a home~

Farmer's Wife Quilt Along

Well, now I'm off to trace templates and decide whether to start with block one or make them according to the story selections...
oh what to do!!

Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt along

I have joined my first quilt along, the Farmer's Wife sampler, based from the book Laurie Aaron Hird. I saw it and thought it was a bit overwhelming, but then this great group of quiltey bloggers started the project and now it's growing like a wild fire!! As some have said, the pressure is too great,,,we must join the 'cool group' and work our way through!! I get my book tomorrow and choose the fabrics!!! I am thinking of going with feed sack prints as this is based around the 1930's. It will be so much fun and I need the creative challenge and inspiration!! So excited!! ~xo~
